About BAE Systems:
BAE Systems Australia develops the latest technologies, capabilities and infrastructure to protect the people of the Australian Defence Force. As a Graduate, you'll play a role in helping us to deliver this, supporting multi-billion dollar programs across every Australian Defence domain – air, land, sea and space.
About the Opportunity:
BAE Systems have Graduate Project Management roles available for our 2024 Graduate Program and are looking for final year, or recently graduated university students for roles based in South Australia.
As a Graduate within our Project Management function, whilst developing yourself, you will provide support and assistance to managers, teams and colleagues within one or more of our many defence projects.
Our Project Management Graduate roles are offering placements in both rotational and non-rotational streams. The rotational stream will see you undertake three one year placements, giving you an appreciation of different areas of the business and the non-rotational stream will see you enjoying stability and the opportunity to develop deep knowledge of that domain. You'll have the opportunity during your application to confirm which stream you prefer or if you would like to be considered for both.
About You:
BAE Systems has a strong focus on operational excellence and business values. For this, you will demonstrate:
To be eligible, you must be due to complete your studies in 2023 (or have already completed) a University degree qualification in an appropriate discipline.
You will also need demonstrated team work and communication skills coupled with a desire to grow and learn.
Due to the nature of our work, you'll also need to be an Australian Citizen and eligible for Australian Defence Security Clearance.
Applications are to be made online and must include:
Unfortunately applications without a current resume and copy of an academic transcript cannot be considered.
About Our Graduate Program:
Our graduate program follows a 2+1 structure. In addition to building your technical competencies over a three-year period to ensure success in your chosen field, we will also provide you with professional development which aligns with our behaviours and values.
In the first two years all graduates will undertake professional development activities together which encourages community and collaboration. In the third year you will have an opportunity to tailor your activities to your individual career aspirations across a number of themes, including leadership and innovation. This is our 2+1 program structure, which offers a unique graduate experience.
You will work under the guidance of a graduate career mentor and have a tailored career plan, extensive training and development opportunities and a competitive annually-reviewed salary. Our program provides meaningful and challenging work within an inclusive and respectful environment.
Our graduate program consists of two streams and depending on the needs of the business, you may have a choice between:
Stream 1 – You'll work on one project or in one department for the duration of your program. As a result, you'll enjoy stability and the opportunity to develop deep knowledge of a particular area.
Stream 2 – You'll undertake three, one year placements in different areas of our business. This provides broad experience and exposure to support your career growth.
Whichever stream you join, you can be assured your career will be off to a great start.
What's next?
Short listed applicants will be invited to participate in a 1-way video interview. Subsequent stages of the process will include a form of interview, either in person, online, panel or assessment centre.
Once this interview stage has been completed preferred candidates will be sent background screening and pre-employment health assessments. Once all checks have been completed, successful candidates will be notified, and as we are a Circle Back Initiative all other applicants will receive notification ether via email or phone call.
We welcome and strongly encourage applications from women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and Veterans for these opportunities. An inclusive culture and an exciting, supportive start to your career awaits!
