Attitude and the demonstrable ability to learn and adapt was just as, if not more, important than demonstrating engineering ability.

Be prepared for some technical questions, but know that the LMA team do not expect us to know how a defence contract works. What they want to see is enthusiasm for learning, an aptitude to adapt and a keen interest in defence

I would recommend candidates to be relaxed and willing to talk as the interviewers use that as a judge of character rather than technical knowledge.
