Application Process & Interviews at Lockheed Martin Australia

Interview was 1 early careers representative and 2 engineering managers. Time between applying and interview was roughly 2 months, interview to job offer was a little over a week.

I applied online which led to phone interview and then an in person interview. After that I was offered the job a week later.

Simple - completing questions and an interview with senior commercial figures.

Interview was not stressful, and indicative of the work I would be doing.

Lots of systems engineering and critical thinking assessment. They wanted examples of my process in solving difficult problems/challenges.

I was asked about my interests and experience I had listed in my resume. I was also given work scenarios and asked how I would complete tasks.

How I would approach certain commercial situations, my interests, etc.

Questions regarding product life cycle, and my way of dealing with conflict.

Attitude and the demonstrable ability to learn and adapt was just as, if not more, important than demonstrating engineering ability.

Be prepared for some technical questions, but know that the LMA team do not expect us to know how a defence contract works. What they want to see is enthusiasm for learning, an aptitude to adapt and a keen interest in defence

I would recommend candidates to be relaxed and willing to talk as the interviewers use that as a judge of character rather than technical knowledge.
